Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Insurance Advisor collects when you visit insuranceadvisor.me (the “Website”), why we collect it, who we share it with, and what control you have over it. The Website is operated by Syed Muhammad Raza Shah, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (“we”, “us”, “our”).

We have tried to write this in plain language rather than legal boilerplate. If anything is unclear, email info@insuranceadvisor.me and we will explain it.

1. The Short Version

  • You can read every article on this Website without giving us any personal information.
  • We only receive your name, email, or phone number if you choose to send them through a form.
  • We use cookies for analytics and advertising. Advertising is served by Google AdSense, which uses cookies to show ads.
  • We do not sell your personal information, and we never have.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising, refuse cookies, and ask us to delete anything you have sent us.

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us

When you submit a contact form, an enquiry, or the chat assistant on this Website, we collect what you type into it — typically your name, email address, phone number, the type of insurance you are asking about, and your message. We collect this only so we can answer you.

If you leave a comment, we collect the comment text, the name and email you supply, and your IP address and browser user agent, which WordPress records to help with spam detection.

Please do not send us policy numbers, Emirates ID or passport numbers, bank or card details, or medical records through a web form or ordinary email. We do not need them, and email is not a secure channel.

Information collected automatically

Like almost every website, our hosting and analytics tools automatically record certain technical information when you visit:

  • Your IP address and approximate location (usually city or country level).
  • Browser type, operating system, device type, and screen size.
  • The pages you view, how long you stay, and the links you click.
  • The site or search that referred you here.
  • Date and time of your visit.

We use this in aggregate to understand which articles are useful and where the Website is failing people. We do not use it to try to identify you personally.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. This Website uses three broad kinds:

  • Essential cookies — needed for the Website to work, for example to remember a form you have started or to keep the site secure and fast. These cannot be switched off.
  • Analytics cookies — help us count visitors and see which content is read. We use Google Analytics for this.
  • Advertising cookies — used by Google and its partners to select and measure the ads you see.

Most browsers let you see what cookies are stored, delete them, and refuse new ones. Doing so will not stop you reading the Website, though some features may behave oddly. Instructions differ by browser and are usually found under Settings › Privacy.

4. Advertising and Google AdSense

This Website may display advertising, including advertising served by Google AdSense. The following disclosures apply:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Website or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Website and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • You may opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.com.
  • Google’s own handling of data is described in its privacy and terms for partner sites.

We do not control which specific ads appear, and an ad appearing here is not an endorsement of the advertiser or its product.

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, ads may be served on a non-personalised basis, or you may be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown, in line with applicable law.

5. Third-Party Services We Use

We keep the list of third parties short on purpose. Each of these has its own privacy policy governing what it does with data:

  • Hostinger — web hosting. Stores the Website and its server logs.
  • Google Analytics / Google Site Kit — visitor analytics.
  • Google AdSense — advertising, where enabled.
  • Google Fonts — typefaces used by the Website’s design.

Some of these providers are based outside the United Arab Emirates, which means your information may be processed in other countries. Where that happens we rely on the provider’s own safeguards for international transfers.

6. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above only to:

  • Reply to your enquiry or question.
  • Publish and moderate comments.
  • Understand which content is useful and improve it.
  • Keep the Website secure and working, and prevent spam and abuse.
  • Display advertising that funds the Website.
  • Comply with the law where we are required to.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not send marketing emails to people who have simply submitted an enquiry, and we do not add you to any list without your agreement.

7. Sharing Your Information

We share personal information only in these situations:

  • With the service providers listed in section 5, to the extent needed for them to provide their service.
  • Where we are legally required to, for example in response to a lawful request from a competent authority.
  • Where necessary to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim, or to protect the safety and rights of others.

We do not pass your enquiry to insurers, brokers, or lead-generation companies. If you contact us, you are contacting us.

8. How Long We Keep It

  • Enquiries and form submissions — kept while we deal with your question and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted.
  • Comments — kept indefinitely while published, so conversations on articles stay readable.
  • Analytics data — retained according to Google’s retention settings, in aggregate form.
  • Server logs — retained by our host for a short period for security and diagnostics.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Whatever your location, you can ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal information of yours we hold.
  • Correct anything that is wrong.
  • Delete what you have sent us, including a comment.
  • Stop using your information for a particular purpose.

Email info@insuranceadvisor.me and we will act on it, normally within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first so we do not disclose someone else’s data to the wrong person.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you additionally have the rights granted by the GDPR, including data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. If you are in the UAE, your rights under Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data apply.

10. Security

The Website is served over HTTPS, and we keep WordPress, its plugins, and its theme updated. We restrict who can access the administration area.

No website can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise. Please do not send us sensitive documents through the Website.

11. Children’s Privacy

This Website is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Links to Other Websites

We link to insurers, regulators, and other sources. Once you follow a link off this Website, this Privacy Policy no longer applies and the destination site’s own policy governs. We are not responsible for how other websites handle your data.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Website or the law changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will always show the current version, and significant changes will be highlighted on the Website.
